The ASEF Young Leaders Summit will take place on 1-5 November 2015 in conjunction with the 12th ASEM Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (ASEM FMM12) in Luxembourg. The project provides a platform for solution-centred dialogue, exchange of best practises and youth policies. The proposed theme for the 1st edition of the ASEF Young Leaders’ Summit focuses on entrepreneurship and youth employment.

The overall objectives of the ASEF Young Leaders Summit are to:

  • Facilitate an exchange of views and best practises on entrepreneurship and youth employment, and youth policies among the generations concerned
  • Develop a joint position paper (ASEM Youth Declaration 2015) to be directly channelled by selected participants to the ASEM Foreign Ministers at the ASEM FMM12

The project includes 2 main components:

  • Phase 1: Online preparations
Selected participants will partake in an e-platform to prepare for the ASEF Young Leaders Summit 2015
  • Phase 2: 4 day conference in Luxembourg
Selected participants will join in an interactive event, including best practice sharing sessions, plenary and building blocks tackling various angles of entrepreneurship and youth employment. During the course of the event, participants will develop an ASEM Youth Declaration which will be handed over to the ASEM FMM12.

What is leadership to you? What should Asian and European governments do to tackle the increasing youth unemployment in both regions? Does the answer lie in social innovation, start-ups, corporates, governments or universities? How do they play a part? How can both regions work together to build the future for the youth?

Contribute to the discussions and explore the answers by applying for the ASEF Young Leaders Summit 2015 on Entrepreneurship and Youth Employment. It will be a 4-day programme from 1–5 November 2015 in Luxembourg prior to the 12th ASEM Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (ASEM FMM12).

Why should you apply?

  • Join the dialogue with young professionals and students from 51 counties and exchange best practices on youth employment and youth policies
  • Gain hands-on skills by participating in workshops conducted by leading experts from reputed organisations in the field of leadership, entrepreneurship and social innovation
  • Discuss your solutions and questions directly with the business and political leaders of Asia and Europe

Accommodation costs and meals are provided for the course of the event together with travel subsidies.
